The public is advised to stay indoors throughout Wheatland County and avoid travel. This is for your safety and the safety of emergency responders.

East and West bound Highway #1 between Calgary and Bassano is closed.

  • There is an Emergency Centre set up at 120 Brent Boulevard in Strathmore (the Rec. Centre)
  • Gleichen has opened its Community Centre for an emergency shelter as well
  • Luthern Church in Strathmore is also open to travellers and their pets, if needed (112 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore)
  • Carseland Community hall is Open as an Emergency Reception Centre
  • Rockyford Community Centre is also open for assistance
